Introduction
Wellington Medical Centre is a dynamic and thriving teaching practice with a patient list of nearly 23,000 patients. It sits within the Taunton Deane West Primary Care Network (PCN) and has a mixed demographic and varied rurality.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a GP for an innovative role to help support our total triage team and on-the-day telephone consultation demand for a 12th month fixed term contract. The role would be up to 4 sessions of pre-triaged, same day telephone calls (capped at 15 telephone appointments (10 minutes)/session). All appointments are booked by the lead GP on the day and you will work closely with the lead GP and triage team to manage the patient flow. This role would work well alongside an existing salaried GP role and lends itself to an element of hybrid working and more flexible hours. It would not be list holding and only any self generated admin. Financial support may be available to support any relocation costs
About us
Wellington Medical Centre has a strong partnership; 10 GP partners, 7 salaried GPs and a retained GP, who work alongside a varied and talented multidisciplinary team. This includes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, paramedics, advanced care practitioners, advanced nurse practitioners, adult mental health workers, health and wellbeing coaches and MSK physiotherapists. We are committed to learning and development and have a half day closure every month for a full team CPD afternoon.
Wellington Medical Centre is situated in Wellington Town Centre in a new, purpose-built building with modern and spacious consulting space and parking.
