The Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM) was formed in December 2020 with the aim of being recognised as the professional body that represents all managers working within general practice in the United Kingdom. The Directors are a team of three Practice Managers and our Regional Representatives are led by a National Lead for each area.
Their Promise:
- Our leadership majority will always be people working in Practice Management
- We will never be a for profit organisation. Any surplus money will always go back into our membership
- The views of our members will always be the most important part of our constitution
Associate Membership costs £50 plus VAT per year . They offer support, helpful podcasts, videos and blogs to follow, including a regular Newsletter and featured Media publications on their Blog page.
Accreditation process to gain entry to the professional register For a one-off Accreditation fee of £280 plus VAT. This is the only register of recognised professional managers working in General Practice in the UK.
- Applicants for the award of Member of the Institute of General Practice Management (MIGPM) must demonstrate the required proficiency as detailed in the accreditation framework.
- Comprehensive evidence is required to be able to advance your application.
- Evidence needs to be supplied in each of 10 domains and the awarding panel must be satisfied that an aggregate pass level has been reached in all of these domains
This framework can act as a career development tool for aspiring managers and also an aid to recruitment.
