This half day course is aimed at staff who are in public facing roles. The aim of the course is to assist them with communicating in an effective way, forging more positive relationships with colleagues and patients, and preventing miscommunication or potential conflict.

The course will help delegates to:

  • Describe what good customer experience looks like
  • Understand differing communication methods and the need to be assertive
  • How to communicate with patients in person and via the phone in a way which provides a good experience and prevents escalation
  • How to de-escalate if required
  • Explore personal challenges in General practice and how to handle them – useful tips and phraseology
  • Support practical self-care – not taking things personally!
